Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy explains how you may and may not use ReachSWE, including unlocked contacts, credits, resume review services, outreach tools, and any related features. By using ReachSWE, you agree to follow this policy.

1. Purpose of ReachSWE

ReachSWE is designed to help students and early-career professionals conduct legitimate, respectful career outreach for software engineering and related roles.

You may use ReachSWE to discover and unlock professional contacts for reasonable purposes such as referral outreach, alumni networking, career advice, recruiter outreach, and learning more about a company or role.

2. Permitted use

When you unlock a contact, you agree to use that information only for genuine career-related outreach.

Permitted uses include:

  • asking for advice about applying to a company;
  • requesting a referral in a respectful and individualized way;
  • contacting alumni or professionals in similar roles;
  • following up on a previous legitimate career conversation;
  • asking recruiters about internships, new grad roles, or software engineering opportunities.

3. Respectful outreach requirements

Your outreach must be respectful, accurate, and targeted. You are responsible for the messages you send using contact information obtained through ReachSWE.

You agree to:

  • send personalized, relevant messages rather than spammy or generic mass outreach;
  • identify yourself honestly;
  • avoid misleading claims about your background, school, experience, or relationship to the recipient;
  • avoid excessive follow-ups;
  • stop contacting someone if they ask you to stop;
  • respect professional boundaries and recipient preferences.

4. Prohibited use of contacts

You may not use unlocked contacts for:

  • spam, harassment, threats, abuse, or intimidation;
  • bulk email campaigns or mass messaging;
  • unrelated sales, lead generation, recruiting, or commercial outreach;
  • phishing, fraud, impersonation, or deceptive messages;
  • scraping, copying, exporting, reselling, or redistributing contact data;
  • publishing contact information online or sharing it with others;
  • building a separate database, list, CRM, or directory from ReachSWE contacts;
  • contacting recipients after they have asked you to stop;
  • any unlawful, harmful, or non-career-related purpose.

5. No resale or redistribution

Contact information unlocked through ReachSWE is for your personal career outreach only. You may not sell, license, share, transfer, publish, scrape, export, or redistribute contact information obtained through ReachSWE.

You may not use ReachSWE to create, enrich, or maintain a separate contact database, lead list, recruiting database, sales list, or similar product.

6. No automated scraping or abuse

You may not use bots, scripts, crawlers, browser automation, scraping tools, or other automated systems to:

  • create accounts;
  • farm free credits;
  • unlock contacts automatically;
  • copy or extract data from ReachSWE;
  • bypass rate limits or access controls;
  • test stolen cards, fake identities, or fraudulent payment methods;
  • interfere with the security, reliability, or normal operation of the Service.

7. Account and credit abuse

You may not abuse ReachSWE's account, credit, refund, or free-credit systems.

Prohibited behavior includes:

  • creating multiple accounts to obtain extra free credits;
  • using fake, disposable, or misleading account information;
  • reusing the same resume or identity across multiple accounts to bypass limits;
  • sharing or transferring accounts;
  • submitting false bounce reports;
  • attempting to reverse engineer, manipulate, or bypass credit logic;
  • using another person's account, payment method, resume, or identity without permission.

8. Resume and user content rules

You are responsible for any resume, profile information, notes, messages, screenshots, or other content you submit to ReachSWE.

You may not upload or submit content that:

  • contains malware, viruses, or harmful code;
  • belongs to someone else without permission;
  • is false, misleading, abusive, defamatory, or unlawful;
  • contains unnecessary sensitive personal information;
  • violates another person's privacy, intellectual property, or legal rights.

9. Email and outreach compliance

You are responsible for making sure your outreach complies with applicable laws, platform rules, school policies, employer policies, email provider rules, and recipient requests.

If a recipient asks not to be contacted again, you must stop contacting them. You may not use ReachSWE to evade opt-outs, blocked senders, spam filters, or prior recipient objections.

10. Enforcement

If we believe you have violated this policy, the Terms of Service, or any other ReachSWE policy, we may take action with or without prior notice.

Possible actions include:

  • warning you;
  • blocking free credits;
  • limiting contact unlocks;
  • denying bounce refunds;
  • removing access to unlocked contacts;
  • suspending or terminating your account;
  • cancelling subscriptions or resume review access;
  • reporting unlawful activity where appropriate.

Credits spent in violation of this policy may not be refunded. Paid amounts may be non-refundable where allowed by law and consistent with our Refund Policy.

11. Reporting misuse

If you believe someone is misusing ReachSWE, abusing contact information, submitting false reports, or violating this policy, contact us at support@reacheswe.com.
