Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ReachSWE, including our website, dashboard, contact unlocks, resume review services, credit system, billing features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, purchasing a plan, unlocking a contact, submitting a resume, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ReachSWE.

1. What ReachSWE does

ReachSWE helps students and early-career professionals discover professional contacts for software engineering and related career outreach. Users may use credits to unlock contact information, generate or copy outreach materials, track outreach activity, and purchase optional resume review services.

ReachSWE does not guarantee that any contact will respond, provide a referral, review your resume, offer an interview, or help you obtain employment. The Service is a career outreach tool, not an employment agency, recruiting firm, or placement guarantee.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use ReachSWE. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

You agree to provide accurate account information and to use the Service only for lawful, personal career-development purposes.

3. Accounts and sign-in

ReachSWE may require you to sign in using a supported third-party authentication provider, such as Google. You are responsible for maintaining control of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You may not create multiple accounts to abuse free credits, bypass usage limits, evade a suspension, or obtain additional contact unlocks. We may limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that appear to be duplicative, automated, abusive, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful to the Service.

4. Credits and contact unlocks

ReachSWE uses credits to allow users to unlock professional contact information. Credits may be granted for free, included with a paid subscription, issued as a refund, or manually adjusted by ReachSWE.

Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, may not be resold, and may only be used inside ReachSWE. We may set limits on how credits are earned, accumulated, used, refunded, or expired.

When you unlock a contact, one credit may be deducted from your account. If an unlocked email address bounces or is materially inaccurate, you may submit a bounce report. If approved, we may refund the credit to your ReachSWE account. Credit refunds are not cash refunds.

5. Contact information

Contact information made available through ReachSWE is provided for legitimate, individualized career outreach, such as requesting advice, networking, or asking about referral processes. You may not use unlocked contact information for spam, harassment, scraping, resale, bulk marketing, unrelated commercial outreach, or any unlawful purpose.

You may not copy, export, sell, share, publish, redistribute, or build a separate database using contact information obtained through ReachSWE. You may not use automated scripts, crawlers, bots, or scraping tools to access or collect data from the Service.

We may throttle, hide, remove, update, or disable contacts at any time, including when a contact is outdated, inaccurate, overused, reported, or no longer appropriate for the Service.

6. Outreach responsibilities

You are responsible for the messages you send using information obtained through ReachSWE. You agree that your outreach will be respectful, accurate, relevant, and targeted to a legitimate career purpose.

If a recipient asks you not to contact them again, you must honor that request. You may not continue contacting a person who has opted out, objected, or otherwise indicated that they do not want further messages from you.

If ReachSWE provides suggested outreach copy, templates, or AI-generated drafts, those drafts are provided for convenience only. You are responsible for reviewing and editing messages before sending them.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited activity includes, but is not limited to:

• using the Service for spam, harassment, phishing, fraud, or deceptive outreach;
• creating multiple accounts to abuse free credits or bypass limits;
• reselling, redistributing, or publicly posting unlocked contact information;
• using automated tools to scrape, crawl, or mass-export data;
• attempting to bypass rate limits, paywalls, authentication, or security controls;
• submitting false bounce reports or refund requests;
• uploading malicious files, malware, or harmful content;
• impersonating another person, school, company, recruiter, or employer;
• using the Service for unrelated sales, recruiting, lead generation, or commercial campaigns;
• violating any applicable law, regulation, platform rule, or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate your account, block free credits, remove access to contacts, or take other action if we believe your use of the Service violates these Terms or creates risk for ReachSWE, other users, or contact recipients.

8. Resume uploads and user content

You may submit resumes, profile details, school information, target roles, target companies, notes, and other content to the Service ("User Content"). You represent that you have the right to submit this content and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant ReachSWE a limited license to host, store, process, analyze, display, and use it as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

You should not upload sensitive personal information that is not necessary for career outreach. We may remove content that violates these Terms or creates security, legal, or operational risk.

9. Resume review services

ReachSWE may offer paid resume review services. Resume reviews may include feedback, suggestions, comments, or edited documents. Resume reviews are subjective and do not guarantee interviews, referrals, job offers, admissions decisions, or any specific outcome.

Resume review purchases may be tracked through your account. Fulfillment timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability, submission volume, and operational capacity.

10. Paid plans, subscriptions, and billing

ReachSWE may offer free plans, paid subscriptions, one-time purchases, and add-ons. Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another third-party payment provider. By purchasing a paid plan or add-on, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and recurring subscription amounts.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your account billing portal when available. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund past charges.

11. Refunds

Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy. Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated in the Refund Policy, payments are non-refundable.

If a contact email bounces or is materially inaccurate, you may be eligible for a credit refund under our Bounce Replacement Policy. Bounce-related refunds are issued as ReachSWE credits unless we state otherwise.

12. Third-party services

ReachSWE may rely on third-party services, including authentication providers, hosting providers, payment processors, email providers, analytics providers, file storage providers, and AI service providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for outages, errors, policy changes, or actions of third-party services outside our control.

13. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using ReachSWE, you acknowledge that we may process your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Intellectual property

ReachSWE, including its website, dashboard, software, design, branding, logos, text, workflows, and other materials, is owned by ReachSWE or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service or any ReachSWE intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

15. Service changes and availability

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, limit, or remove parts of the Service at any time. We may also change plans, pricing, features, credit rules, contact availability, or usage limits. If changes materially affect a paid subscription, we will try to provide reasonable notice when practical.

We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

16. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReachSWE disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.

ReachSWE does not guarantee contact accuracy, email deliverability, responses, referrals, interviews, employment, admissions outcomes, or any career result.

17. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReachSWE and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, reputational harm, or business interruption arising from or related to your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReachSWE's total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to ReachSWE in the three months before the claim arose or one hundred dollars ($100).

18. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ReachSWE and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, and service providers from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the Service, your outreach activity, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

19. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, abused the credit system, misused contact information, created risk for other users or contact recipients, or used the Service in a way that may harm ReachSWE.

You may delete your account from Account Settings if that feature is available. Account deletion may remove or disable access to your profile, resume, credits, unlocked contacts, resume review status, and related data, subject to our legal, security, billing, and backup retention needs.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of ReachSWE after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless a different governing law is required by applicable law.
